Greetings FAPPO! I don’t know about you, but I am glad for one thing: its football season! Whether it be high school (go Yellow Jackets!), NCAA (go Seminoles!), NFL (go Dolphins!) or even Pop Warner (go Leesburg!), I am ready for some football! Not only am I geared this time of year to watching and attending football games, I’m also psyched that my favorite time of year is coming --- fall and the ensuing holidays the rest of the year. To me there is something so memorable when summer is winding down and fall begins to peek its head around the corner.
And you know what else is coming? Our Fall Workshop! This year, we will be in Ft. Lauderdale for our October Board Meeting on Oct. 13th as well as the Fall Workshop on Oct. 14th. Be sure to look for additional information in the newsletter, and as always, frequently check our website for the latest information, as we are still working out on the agenda details and will be updating the website frequently.
And please continue to take advantage of our financial assistance opportunities to help get you to our events and educational programs throughout the year. We have scholar-ship funds to be utilized to attend NIGP specific courses sponsored by FAPPO or other FAPPO sponsored courses; the FAPPO Bucks Program for attendance at FAPPO’s annual Spring Conference; and the Norma Showley Scholarship for our FAPPO members who wish to pursue other training that is beneficial for continued professional growth, but may not be degree-seeking or core NIGP classes. So let’s get busy and spend our money, it is there for YOU!
Planning for our 45th Annual Conference and Trade Show is underway. It will be held at the Tampa Convention Center and the Tampa Westin Harbour Island Hotel in Tampa May 12 – 16, 2012.
Hope to see y’all in October and hope to hear from you throughout the year!
Blessings to you,
Mark
Please take the opportunity to review the entire website and the current newsletter for information on our upcoming events. You’ll also find opportunities to become more involved with the organization by volunteering to serve on one of our many committees.
